1. Metal materials. Including construction steel (some also known as large hardware), casting products, non-ferrous metals and products, and small hardware.
2. Organic non-metallic materials. Including wood, bamboo, building plastics, paint and waterproof materials
3. Inorganic non-metallic materials. Including cement, glass, ceramics, bricks, tiles, gravel, perlite products, refractory materials, silicate blocks, and concrete products
In warehouse storage, the following classification methods are generally adopted: metal materials (also divided into black metals, non-ferrous metals, etc.), wood, chemical materials, electrical materials, and large piles of materials (bricks, tile ash, sand, stone, etc.)
4. According to the classification of material management authority, it has long been divided into four categories: unified materials, departmental materials, local materials, and materials provided by the market. The application and allocation of materials should be carried out according to different methods. With the reform of the economic system, this classification method has undergone significant changes.
5. According to the direction of material use, it can be classified into industrial production materials, basic construction materials, maintenance materials, etc. When calculating and balancing materials based on their intended use, the classification method of materials should be adopted.
